The valleys and cascades in Yosemite
up in smoke are such a pity
but strong are the redwoods
standing always where they’ve stood

Twisting and turning
new praises to sing
whether in a busy city
or the vast country you be
High cliffs overlooking lush valley
to the waves of white foamed sea
that iconic bridge
like those tallest living things

those wise ever-seeing trees.

Maybe we can return
when the water doesn’t burn
