and plains that are yellow tanned
so much green life that’s worth seein’
The valleys and cascades in Yosemite
up in smoke are such a pity
but strong are the redwoods

Back at the start, when nothing had changed,
all had been one and one had been all.
The sands’ easy passing grew mountain, dug holes,
Earth trembled and stormed and it breathed like a soul.
Great lakes and forests, mysterious weather;
Boulders and water all bonded together.
Enemies of our own realm,
heirs beware.
Change needs us to take the helm,
unbind our snares.
And in the end, when all things had all changed,
all became all and the one was all gone.
The micro had parted and grown on its own;
Flowers and bugs with their summer-full tone.
Colours and shapes, they’re all wondrous to see-
even these things, they matter to me.

Hear the eagle’s screech o’er the valleys below,
feel the raging heat of live volcanoes.
In the deepest caves see the cotton-warm light.

Being stuck in tradition slows us down henceforth.
