Wake up at four in the morning, as you hear that alarm clock ring. You know you’re tired, but still you’re fired for what the day will bring. Pack your bags and rush out the door now- you’re about to go from shore to shore. Get your camera ready, and take to the breeze; Go and make some memories. Flying up in the air. Going places here and there. Whether business or pleasure, to the ground, you’re never anchored. Enjoy your time before you take to the sky a second time you aren’t quite as high for home awaits you, very well you know until the next trip you go There’s a special feeling to being on wheels, or even just on your own two heels. Pay attention to what you sail by no matter which way you fly. Flying up in the air. Going places here and there. Whether business or pleasure, to the ground, you’re never anchored.

That great, big, golden land with coasts of cerulean and plains that are yellow tanned so much green life that’s worth seein’ The valleys and cascades in Yosemite up in smoke are such a pity but strong are the redwoods standing always where they’ve stood Come with me and see those wise ever-seeing trees. Learn of their longevity through the flame, for of stars, of stars, we remain the same. Twisting and turning new praises to sing whether in a busy city or the vast country you be High cliffs overlooking lush valley to the waves of white foamed sea that iconic bridge like those tallest living things Come with me and see those wise ever-seeing trees. Learn of their longevity through the flame, for of stars, of stars, we remain the same. Maybe we can return when the water doesn’t burn to the huge place, and give the south an embrace.

Back at the start, when nothing had changed, all had been one and one had been all. The sands’ easy passing grew mountain, dug holes, Earth trembled and stormed and it breathed like a soul. Great lakes and forests, mysterious weather; Boulders and water all bonded together. Enemies of our own realm, heirs beware. Change needs us to take the helm, unbind our snares. And in the end, when all things had all changed, all became all and the one was all gone. The micro had parted and grown on its own; Flowers and bugs with their summer-full tone. Colours and shapes, they’re all wondrous to see- even these things, they matter to me. Enemies of our own realm, heirs beware. Change needs us to take the helm, unbind our snares. Hear the eagle’s screech o’er the valleys below, feel the raging heat of live volcanoes. In the deepest caves see the cotton-warm light. Deep motion in glorious flight. Enemies of our own realm, heirs beware. Change needs us to take the helm, unbind our snares.

Phasing 03:16
How happy are we to receive new things? How boring would it be for perpetual Spring? At one time we were nothing, the next we sprang forth. Being stuck in tradition slows us down henceforth. A natural ever-present divine. Inventors to create new designs; Sparks diversity in foreign exchange. There’s no worse way to live than to live without change. Oh, change is a natural ever-present divine. It pushes tinkerers to create new designs; Creates compelling differences in foreign exchange. And there’s no worse way to live than to live without change. What if the earth or sun did not form? The rocks and planets would be one giant storm. What stories could we possibly tell, If the phases of the moon did not swell. Trust all would end as it should. Amen.

Years go by like seconds and minutes, passing us by like a breeze. “I build mountains and destroy them, ticking away with the greatest of ease.” Sing, sing of the blank future, sing, sing of time gone by. “Every song ends, but is that a reason to pass it by?” All life is evanescent, you’ve got to take a dive. “If we wait until we’re ready, we’ll be waiting for the rest of our lives.” Sing, sing of the blank future, sing, sing of time gone by. “Every song ends, but is that a reason to pass it by?” From the sands of Ancient Egypt to the dunes of today, through tempus pax et tempus bellum, the flow of time goes by. Sing, sing of the blank future, sing, sing of time gone by. “Every song ends, but is that a reason to pass it by?”

Stars 03:21
You ask for respect, but show none yourself. Perhaps take a look at that book on your shelf: “Neighbours you’ll love as much as your own”, or do you recite that in much monotone? Don’t think that you’ll save me recalling my sins. How can you blindly put faith, a myth, in? All I see are stars. You need the betroth’ of elysium to be good? Why not just do it because you should? You’re not a judge, just leave that to Him. We don’t want to hear your overblown hymns. Don’t think that you’ll save me recalling my sins. How can you blindly put faith, a myth, in? All I see are stars. Keep me safe throughout the night and wake me with the morning light. For If I should die before I wake, I know the stars my soul to take. Don’t think that you’ll save me recalling my sins. How can you blindly put faith, a myth, in? All I see are stars.

Ennui 05:01
When did we grow up through all the strife? When did we know that we’re going to end? What to do in your short time? Make meaning before you transcend? “Who else could you turn to?” “What the hell is wrong with you?” “How much are you worth to me?” You still don’t want me to worry Alone in your room you start to cry. Among all the good things, you wonder, “why?” You are forgotten. It’s a selfish disease, what they fell to. Insecurity, failure, words not penned a film placed over the truth like a filter on a camera lens “...we live by what we see as true. But really what does that all mean? A vague concept through and through... our reality may be just fantasy.” Everyone claims those that fell as cowards To you, they are the bravest of us all You’ve almost come to that same conclusion and yet you can’t, you have yet to fall Alone in your room you start to cry. Among all the good things, you wonder, “why?” You are forgotten. Are you forgotten? You’re not forgotten.

Rebirth 03:15
You live your life and soon you die, you return to your supply on high. The cloud of your being becomes fuel for the stars joule by joule. As the phoenix burns and rises, Flowers and trees find their demises. New plants and islands may then emerge In bolder and new more powerful surge. I make a promise to the universe: My friends, myself, I will immerse, To live and love through the good and bad, Even with no meaning to be had. As the phoenix burns and rises, Flowers and trees find their demises. New plants and islands may then emerge In bolder and new more powerful surge. And for all, for all, who ask Just know: this, too, shall pass. As the phoenix burns and rises, Flowers and trees find their demises. New plants and islands may then emerge In bolder and new more powerful surge.

about

Enter the Void is a concept album that was created in partial fulfilment of the B.S. in Music Industry program at The College of Saint Rose.
The title and concept of my album, “Enter the Void,” are drawn from my personal fascination and regard for the natural world, and for the universe and space, combined with my personal experiences in the few years leading up to, and including, writing the songs. Therefore, as part of the concept of the album, the themes of the songs toward the beginning of the album are representative of physical things here on Earth and my human experiences/thoughts of them, then transition as the album moves on to broader, more ideological topics using space and time as a backdrop for the ideas. Each song (in between the introduction, transition, and outro songs) is based on the basic song format we mostly worked with in Dr. Andrew McKenna Lee’s songwriting class, but the track listing is in a generally chronological order— “Up in the Air” and “Lost in the Redwood” being the first songs I had written, and “Ennui” and “Rebirth” being two of the most recent.
Influences include OneRepublic, Eric Whitacre, Aaron Copland, Thirty Seconds to Mars, early chant, and several Video Game soundtracks.
